Autism Awareness: Inclusion in Central Illinois
An autism diagnosis creates challenges for many families. For the Planitz family, it took a long time to adjust to their son, Jordan's, diagnosis. Simple activities like going to a restaurant, proved to be difficult.
But as the years have passed, the Central Illinois community has become more accommodating.
Businesses like "Hope Inclusion Cafe & Play" create a welcome environment, even providing job training for students at the Hope School in Springfield.
And thanks to other organizations, there are activities throughout the year for the autism community.
