Groundhog Predicts Bronco Win Sunday
Groundhog Day was a disappointment to football fans in the Carolinas.
Punxsutawney Phil of Pennsylvania predicted that spring would be coming early this year, but North Carolina's weather-predicting groundhog made a different prediction: who would win this year's Super Bowl.
They laid out two ears of corn next to two signs, one with the Denver Broncos and one with the Carolina Panthers logo. Grady the Groundhog went straight for the Broncos, supposedly predicting a win for Manning this year.
But Carolina fans might still have hope.
"This is only his second year predicting the Super Bowl, but last year he was incorrect in that prediction."
Last year, Grady picked the Seattle Seahawks to win. But the New England Patriots had a come-from-behind victory and took home the trophy. Since he's native to North Carolina, they were hoping he'd pick the Panthers.
