Two people arrested for home invasion
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WICS/WRSP) —
Two people were arrested for a home invasion in Springfield earlier this month.
Amanda Daily, 18, and Christopher Nelson, 25, are accused of forcing their way into a home in the 2500 block of South 4th Street and battering the homeowner.
The victim claimed when she opened the door after hearing someone knock, the suspects forced their way into her home and struck her in the head multiple times. The suspects made their way through the home and stole several items before fleeing the scene in a vehicle.
The victim was later transported to HSHS St. John's Hospital and sustained non-life threatening injuries.
Both suspects were charged with home invasion, residential burglary, and aggravated battery.
Nelson was already in the Sangamon County Jail prior to the home invasion for a traffic warrant.
