The dangers of drinking in cold weather
If you're celebrating this weekend for New Year's Eve with alcohol be careful.
Experts at Springfield Clinic said alcohol also dilates your blood vessels making you more prone to the cold. If you plan on drinking, you should dress in layers, plan how much time you'll be spending outside, and make sure your skin isn't exposed so you don't suffer from frostbite.
"There are products where you can have little warmers in your pockets that can be helpful for those times where you can't avoid being outside you can use to generate heat to generate more heat in your hands or in your lap," Katherine Thompson with the Springfield Clinic said.
Thompson recommends covering up as much of your body as possible.
