Teacher shortage bill heads to Gov. Rauner's desk
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WICS/WRSP) —
A bill to fix the teacher shortage in Illinois is on its way to Gov. Bruce Rauner's desk.
The measure would make it easier for out-of-state teachers to teach in Illinois.
The bill would make it easier for substitute teachers to meet licensing requirements.
According to the State Board of Education, there are more than 2,000 open teaching positions in Illinois.
