State payments finally making noticeable dent in District 186
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WICS) —
The state of Illinois' slow but steady payments are finally making a noticeable dent in local school districts' pockets.
Joe Bascio, Business Manager of District 186, said General State Aid payments of just over $2 million are received twice a month, and they've always been on time - with one exception.
As of September, the state owed nearly $7 million, but now, as of October, the state's bill is down to $3.4 million.
