Springfield Woman Facing Charges in Fatal Motorcycle Accident
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WICS) —
State’s Attorney John Milhiser says 46-year-old Doris Fisher of Springfield is charged with two counts of driving on a revoked license, driving with no insurance and failure to yield in relation to the accident on north Dirksen Parkway and Linden Avenue on Saturday morning.
Fisher was arrested for DUI by the Sangamon County Sheriff’s Office, but Milhiser says his office is still investigating those charges and they have not been formally filed yet.
The accident killed 29-year-old Justin Heath of Springfield. A passenger on the motorcycle, Samantha Clardy, suffered serious injuries and remain in the hospital.
Fisher remains in the Sangamon county jail on $250,000 bond. She’s due in court Wednesday.
Court records on the Sangamon County Circuit Clerk’s website show she has three previous DUI arrests and more than 20 citations for driving on a suspended or revoked license.
