Schock's Lawyers File Motion to Dismiss Case
Former U.S. congressman Aaron Schock has asked a federal judge to throw out the case, arguing the prosecution misinterpreted the law, and overreached.
Lawyers for the Republican officially filed the motion to dismiss the case in Springfield federal court on Thursday.
They argue the indictment "trespasses on land the constitution reserves for Congress."
Prosecutors deny that investigators overstepped legal lines by recruiting an informant from Schock's staff as they built their case.
