Salvation Army hands out gifts through Angel Tree Program
The Salvation Army handed out the gifts collected through their Angel Tree Program.
The gifts are going to families in need who aren't always able to afford presents for their children.
For the past month, people have been taking angel tags from trees around Springfield with a list of gifts to buy.
The Salvation Army said it's important to remember the less fortunate during the holidays.
"People who are little down on their luck this time of the year and they want to be able to provide gifts for their kids, so this is a program designed to be able to provide what many people consider Christmas for their kids,” Captain Joshua Stansbury with the Salvation Army said.
The Angel Tree Program is a yearly campaign for the Salvation Army.
