Preparations are underway for the 31st Annual First Night Springfield
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WICS) —
Volunteers are getting ready to put on the 31st Annual First Night Springfield happening on New Year’s Eve Sunday.
Organizers were setting up chairs, preparing technology, and rehearsing performances on Saturday.
First Night Springfield will have musical performances, art, dance shows, and even an improv comedy show.
Organizers said there's plenty of events going on for everyone.
"All of the acts are family friendly,” First Night Springfield Coordinator Mark Pence said, “so you can bring your kids and there's not going to be any problem with having them attending the shows."
Unfortunately, due to the extremely cold temperatures, the annual fireworks show has been postponed.
Wristbands for admission to all First Night events are $20 for adults and $5 for kids.
