Pool Linked Illness on the Rise
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WICS) —
Summer is coming and there's nothing like a swim when the weather gets hot.
Now health officials are warning about a pool linked illness that's on the rise.
The bug is a result of people swimming in public pools when sick and infecting other swimmers when they swallow the water.
If you have an intestinal bug, avoid public pools for two weeks after your symptoms are gone.
Also, if you're a bug-free swimmer, avoid swallowing the pool water.
