Pennsylvania Governor Signs Opioid Epidemic Legislation
Pa. (CNN Newsource) —
Pennsylvania is taking steps in fighting the opioid abuse epidemic.
Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf signed a legislation to increase the state's prescription drug monitoring program, this includes placing a limit on some prescriptions.
Wolf says the new legislation has bi-partisan support and will help citizens struggling with substance abuse.
These bills will allow us to continue to help our citizens suffering from substance use disorders and strengthen our ability to identify those who are suffering from addiction and it will help us remove a huge source of readily available and over-prescribed opioids,” said Wolf.
Wolf also said state officials are working on developing opioid treatment centers throughout the state.
