New developments on the man arrested for allegedly leaving his dog in the freezing cold until it died.
Shamar Dawson, 23, is now being charged with one count of cruelty to animals.
The dog was found by animal control last week in the 600 block of South Jackson Street in Decatur.
When officials arrived on scene they found the dog in a dog house frozen solid.
Investigators said that the dog actually died two weeks before it was discovered.
Dawson was taken to the Macon County Jail but posted bond.
