Over 40K Illinois households lose food stamp benefits

More than 30,000 households are still without their food stamp benefits because of trouble converting to a new computer system.

The Illinois Department of Human Services began rolling out a new computer system in 2013.

The second phase of the process started in October.

More than 40,000 households lost their food stamp benefits during the month of November.

We’re told the issue was fixed for 12,000 people.
