Opioid bill sent to Governor's desk
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WICS/WRSP) —
A bill to help curb the opioid crisis is on its way to the Governor’s desk.
The measure would allow patients who qualify for opioid prescriptions, to apply for Illinois’ medical marijuana program.
Supporters said it provides a less addictive alternative to treating pain, and could reduce overdose deaths in Illinois.
