Settling into the back to school routine can be tricky and it could lead to anxiety for some children.
Whether it's a new school or a new teacher, it is common for kids to have some anxiety.
Dr. Douglas Carlson, the Medical Director at St. John's Children's Hospital in Springfield, says an easy way to manage the change is to talk about it with your child.
He says keep an eye out for clues that something isn't right, like changes in mood and behavior.
Dr. Carlson says most kids do get over anxiety quickly, but a pediatrician can help with treating the most severe cases.
