Police are investigating a stabbing at a Casey's General Store in Carlinville.

The Carlinville Police Department reports a man was stabbed at the Casey's, 325 West Main Street, around 1 a.m. Monday. The victim was found with multiple stab wounds and was taken to Carlinville Area Hospital where he was later transferred to a Springfield hospital.

Officer’s later responded to an address in the 700 block of South Locust Street where they made contact with a man and woman who had blood on and about their persons. After further investigation, a search warrant was applied for and granted for the property. The Carlinville Police Department and the Illinois State Police are continuing to investigate the scene.
