Local Eagle Scout speaks out on girls being allowed to join Boy Scouts
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WICS) —
Reaction is still pouring in about the recent decision by the Boy Scouts to allow girls to join.
One local Eagle Scout Newschannel 20 spoke with said while he supports allowing girls, the organization isn't implementing the new policy in the right way.
"It's not really executed well in the fact that you could have a merger of Girl and Boy Scouts and just have Scouts, it's not that so you have Boy Scouts and we allow girls and Girl Scouts,” said Riley Heinds, an Eagle Scout.
Earlier this week the Boy Scouts announced girls will be allowed to join the Cub Scouts and make them eligible to become an Eagle Scout.
