Kumler Outreach Ministries Receives $2,000 from Weather Guarantee
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WICS) —
Every month, the Storm Team 20 team along with Green Family Stores gives back to local organizations.
In May, our accurate forecasts benefited the Kumler Outreach Ministries in Springfield.
Tuesday, we presented a check worth $2,000 to the group.
Officials say they don't receive funding from the state and everything they get is from donations.
Kumler Outreach Ministries Executive Director Sharon Brown says this donation will help dozens of people.
"We'll probably split this money between our food pantry, which serves about 1,100 people every month, and then also our prescription medicine program where we help people pay for their co-pays, maybe can’t afford it or they’ve fallen through the cracks with a switch in insurance," said Sharon Brown, executive director of Kumler Outreach Ministries.
"Green Family Stores really takes a lot of pride in being able to give back to the community that takes such good care of us," Josh Wagoner with Green Family Stores Said.
In June, our accurate forecasts will benefit the Peacekeepers.
