Illinois Treasurer's Office aims to reunite citizens with unclaimed properties
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WICS/WRSP) —
The Illinois Treasurer's Office is starting a new advertising campaign to reunite people with more than $2 billion in unclaimed property.
The unclaimed property is from lost bank accounts, old insurance policies and abandoned safety deposit boxes.
Illinois State Treasurer Michael Frerichs said it's free to check the database.
