Illinois Attorney General Files Brief Against Trump Travel Ban
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WICS) —
Illinois has joined 16 other states in the continual challenge of President Trump's federal travel ban.
Attorney General Lisa Madigan filed an amicus brief in The International Refugee Assistance Project V. Trump case.
The brief argues the district court's decision should not be overturned on appeal because of evidence of anti-Muslim sentiment.
It also states that the travel ban would harm state colleges, universities and medical institutions who draw students from the countries where residents are banned from entering the U.S.
