Governor Rauner visits Jacksonville, talks Chicago Machine
Governor Bruce Rauner was in Jacksonville to visit Eil Bridge Company Friday.
During his stop at the company, Rauner faced questions about the upcoming primary against representative Jeanne Ives.
When asked if he would debate Ives, Rauner turned the focus to Democrats, what he calls the "Chicago machine"
“We're just never going to give up and give in,” said Governor Bruce Rauner. “We've got to take on the machine, we've got to have a democracy restored so the government is working for the people and we're going to win, we're going to win this election and we're going to bet the machine."
Rauner was asked about debating Ives two more times, and responded quote "we're going to win the general election and we're going to beat the Chicago machine."
