Gov. Rauner Talks Pension Reform Via Facebook
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WICS) —
Gov. Bruce Rauner took to social media to push for a part of the senate's grand bargain to move forward.
Governor Rauner is skipping the media and taking his message of supporting pension reform straight to the people through his social media page.
It's a move the governor and other politicians have been increasing their use of.
The governor says pension reform can save the state billions of dollars and that there's no point in waiting.
The earlier agreement on pension reform also included pension payments for Chicago Public Schools.
The plan the governor is supporting has a one time pension payment included.
Democrats say permanent pension changes are a bad deal if cps only gets one payment instead of parity.
