Decatur Police Search for Suspect in Orchard Street Shooting
DECATUR, Ill. (WICS) —
Decatur police say they are searching for 29-year-old Preston D. Hyde in connection to a Thursday morning shooting in Decatur.
Decatur police confirm one person was shot in the 400 block of east Orchard Street at about 11 a.m. Thursday in Decatur.
Police say the victim, a 39-year-old male, suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Police say the victim and suspect were in an argument in a parking lot on east Orchard Street. The victim was in a vehicle when the suspect fired several shots. Police aren’t releasing how many times the victim was shot.
The suspect is a black male, 5 foot 10 inches tall, weighs between 180 and 200 pounds and appeared to be in his twenties. He also has long black hair, possibly in braids or dreadlocks.
