Crime Stoppers searching for Christmas tree thief

Police are searching for the person responsible for sawing a Christmas tree right off of a lawn in Jacksonville. (WICS)

The Sangamon County Crime Stoppers is asking your help identifying whoever is responsible for sawing a Christmas tree right off of a lawn in Jacksonville.

The tree was near North Main and Lafayette Street.

Right now, police are unsure how many people were involved in the incident.

They’re asking if you know any information about the crime to come forward.

You can call Crime Stoppers at (217) 243-7300, you can remain anonymous.

Instructions on how to send an anonymous text tip:
