Abraham Lincoln Documents To Be Displayed Digitally
The thoughts and feelings of Abraham Lincoln may soon by on display for the entire world.
A team of experts will be brought into study the best way to execute the next phase of the Papers of Abraham Lincoln Project.
For 17 years, the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum has been gathering about 101,000 documents written by or to former president Abraham Lincoln.
The next phase of the project will be to make the documents public via technology.
The group of experts will look at the project to determine how to best do that and have a report ready by April 1st.
"Ultimately the goal will be for anyone around the world to access the documents to learn more about Lincoln," said Alan Lowe, Executive Director of ALPLM.
The project gets funding from both the federal government and private donors.
