3 arrested in connection to attempted Champaign bombing, Minnesota bombing

The FBI said three of four men arrested Tuesday in Clarence for possession of weapons, are also responsible for a mosque bombing in Minnesota and the attempted bombing of a Women's Health Practice in Champaign.

The FBI said they believe the east-central Illinois men are connected to the Minnesota bombing of an Islamic center from last August.

Michael Hari, Joe Morris, and Michael McWhorter are also three of the four men arrested in Clarence Tuesday.

Law enforcement said evidence shows they're also responsible for an attempted bombing of the Women's Health Practice in Champaign, November 2017.

Records show an employee found an explosive device in a surgical room.

No one was hurt in either incident.

The explosion happened at the Dar Al-Farooq Islamic center in Bloomington, Minnesota.

Police have called it a hate crime.
