2 adults, 1 child injured in Route 4 crash
SANGAMON COUNTY, Ill. (WRSP/WICS) —
Three people are recovering Wednesday morning following a crash in rural Sangamon County.
Illinois State Police say it happened just after 5 p.m. Tuesday near the intersection of Illinois Route 4 and Alpha Road, just south of Chatham.
Troopers say a 65-year-old woman with a 4-year-old passenger was driving north when she drove off the right side of the road, overcorrected and crashed into an oncoming car driven by a 73-year-old woman.
All three were taken to the hospital. The 73-year-old woman is suffering from life-threatening injuries.
The 65-year-old woman is charged with a DUI, driving with a suspended license, improper lane usage, and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
