Republicans push for action in tax reform plan
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WICS) —
Republicans have started their push to make President Donald Trump's tax reform plan into action.
The House has passed a budget bill needed for the tax reform, and it now heads to the Senate.
However, some may not be confident Congress can pass tax reform.
Newschannel 20 asked Republican Congressman Rodney Daivs if his constituents should have faith Republicans can pass tax reform after failing to pass three different healthcare bills.
“I think there's been a much different process,” explained Rep. Rodney Davis, R-Taylorville. “Even though the healthcare process was a lot more open than those who opposed any changes to the status quo would want you to believe this process now is very open we proposed a framework and that framework is out there. If you don't like it come in and offer your suggestion.”
