Hepatitis-A Outbreak Linked To Frozen Strawberries
An outbreak of Hepatitis-A is being linked to frozen strawberries.
The CDC says 89 people have been sickened in seven states -- Illinois is not affected.
Nearly all of the patients interviewed reported drinking smoothies containing strawberries from tropical smoothie café.
The strawberries were imported from Egypt.
Tropical smoothie café has since switched to a different supplier.
The CDC still expects additional cases because Hepatitis-A is a highly contagious illness and can take as long as 50 days to begin after exposure.
