13-Week Session of GriefShare (6:30 - 8:30pm; Parish Hall at Trinity Lutheran School, 515 S. MacArthur, SPRINGFIELD) Grief is the cost of losing a loved one. It is inevitable that during such a loss a person would experience shock or feel wounded by this sense of desertion. Grief is a process of working through the feelings of loss, and recovery is the ability to find joy in life again.
GriefShare is a non-denominational, grief-recovery program using video seminar, a workbook and a support group environment to assist people in working through the death of a beloved family member or close friend. Participants have the opportunity to be around people who understand the emotions of grieving. Learning how to recognize the symptoms of being stuck in grief and learning to face a “new normal in life” and renewing hope for the future are two of the goals of participating in GriefShare.
The 13-week fall session of GriefShare will begin on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran School, 515 S. MacArthur Blvd. at 6:30 pm. Each weekly session lasts two hours. There is a $15 fee for materials and supplies; scholarships are available to help cover the $15 fee. Childcare is available upon advance request.
